Dr. Denise Gilstrap (she/her/hers) is a passionate helping professional and college professor who values forming deep, supportive connections with others. In her clinical work, she uses an integrated cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and family systems approach to facilitate clients’ interpersonal wellness and self-awareness.
Dr. Gilstrap is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist, and National Certified Counselor with advanced training in child counseling, family therapy, and trauma-focused practices. Her degrees include a Master of Science in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).
In her spare time, Dr. Gilstrap loves going on adventures with her fur baby Bella. She also enjoys jogging, being in nature, practicing hot yoga, and spending time with friends and family.
