Vivian Oberling

Dr. Vivian Oberling is a licensed clinical psychologist who has dedicated her career to improving the lives of clients across the lifespan. She is experienced in providing evidence-based therapeutic treatments, and is extensively trained in psychological and developmental assessment. Dr. Oberling works collaboratively with her clients and their families to create a treatment plan that is tailored to meet their needs, while emphasizing the unique strengths and abilities of each individual as opposed to focusing solely on symptom reduction. Uniquely, Dr. Oberling is a strong proponent that assessments are also a therapeutic process and thus strives to aid her clients in achieving traditional assessment while also facilitating positive changes in their lives. Dr. Oberling has extensive experience in the hospital setting, providing individual therapeutic and assessment services at Stanford Children’s Hospital, California Pacific Medical Center Sutter Health, Kaiser Permanente Oakland, and Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Oberling has a passion for research and has been involved in several projects at UCLA and Stanford. She carries this evidenced-based focus into the therapy room to ensure that her patients receive individualized care that is tailored to their specific needs. Dr. Oberling also has experience and enjoys supervising graduate-level interns.
